Jawad Sadek

Jawad is a Senior Research Software Engineer at the Brain & Behaviour Lab with extensive experience in developing and deploying AI-based systems on the cloud using AWS services. In his previous roles, he collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to leverage cloud computing and software engineering principles to designing and implementing secure, high-performance, and efficient systems. His work has spanned various domains, including healthcare, cultural heritage and linguistics.
Research Brief
Jawad’s work at the Lab is dedicated to bridging the gap between research-driven software and practical applications in real-world clinical and patient environments. He is current work involves developing a software application that integrates ‘AI-Clinician’, an AI recommendation system designed to provide clinicians with real-time guidance for optimal treatments of sepsis for patients in intensive care units. The software is set to be deployed in six NHS trusts, including Imperial College and University college London hospitals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for software as a Medical Device.
