Luchen Li

PhD Student

Luchen is currently a third-year PhD student of the Department of Computing, Imperial College London. She got her BSc’s degree at Beihang University, Beijing, China, during which she had been a visiting student to Technical University of Munich for six months. She got her MSc’s degree at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

Research Brief

Luchen’s interest of research mainly lies in applying deep reinforcement learning to medical treatment optimization. Specifically, as both the physiological states of patients and the implications of learned clinical interventions are indirect, she’s looking to find accurate representations of patient state that efficaciously accounts for historical information in ways that are as supervised as possible, and to devise robust and sample-efficient off-policy learning with respect to the learned representations.
